Ne'imah Jewish Community
Chorus is a four voice-groups
chorus. The chorus' mission is to acquaint, educate and enrich the Jewish and
non-Jewish community of the Capital Region of New York State with the variety
and richness of the Jewish choral music repertoire, ranging from original
works by contemporary Jewish composers to choral arrangements of existing
Jewish folk and liturgical music. "Ne'imah" is the Hebrew word for "melody"
and "being pleasant". Ne'imah has 30-35 Jewish
and non-Jewish amateur singers from the Capital Region and surroundings, who
love to sing Jewish choral music. The 2013-2014
singing season marks Ne'imah's 22nd year of
existence. Rehearsals are starting on September 22, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. at
Congregation B'nai Sholom located at 420 Whitehall
Road, Albany, NY 12208. Click calendar to learn about our upcoming performances and the
rehearsal schedule. Ne'imah is open to Jewish
and non-Jewish people, regardless of religion, organizational affiliation,
musical sight-reading and foreign language knowledge, age, race or
disability. |
