WELCOME !

Ne'imah Jewish Community Chorus is a four voice-groups chorus. The chorus' mission is to acquaint, educate and enrich the Jewish and non-Jewish community of the Capital Region of New York State with the variety and richness of the Jewish choral music repertoire, ranging from original works by contemporary Jewish composers to choral arrangements of existing Jewish folk and liturgical music.

"Ne'imah" is the Hebrew word for "melody" and "being pleasant".

Ne'imah has 30-35 Jewish and non-Jewish amateur singers from the Capital Region and surroundings, who love to sing Jewish choral music.

The 2011-2012 singing season marks Ne'imah's 20th year of existence. Ne'imah will celebrate this milestone together with other Jewish singing groups from the Capital District area at the First Albany Jewish Choral Festival titled " Havah Nashirah!" (Let's sing!). Ne'imah will organize, host and sponsor the festival scheduled to take place on June 17, 2012 at the Picotte Recital Hall at the Massry Ceter for he Arts, College of St. Rose College, Albany, NY.

Ne'imah is open to Jewish and non-Jewish people, regardless of religion, organizational affiliation, musical sight-reading and foreign language knowledge, age, race or disability.
